Legacy Tournament - Day 1

The first of the Legacy Tournaments took place this Saturday at William Hulme School.
Stockport put out an U10s side with a mix of new and more experienced players.
For some - Ryan, David, Luca - this was their first taste of the competitive game of field lacrosse, and they all made brilliant contributions to the matches.

The team did well with 2 wins, 2 losses and 2 draws - and finished joint 2nd with 11 points.

Well Done U10s

Game 1 v Timperley

The tournament got off to a good start with our first game against Timperley. It was a close game and our new U10s team gave themselves a boost of confidence with their first win.

Game 5 vs Poynton

After the trials and traumas of the previous game, Stockport weren't on top form for this game, failing to score in the 1st half. The highlight of the game had to be the face-off of the youngest players on the field, with Poynton's youngest going on to score his 1st goal.

Final Score - Stockport 1 : Poynton 6

Get in there, Stockport!

Day 2, summer tour

After a night under canvas, we packed away early to make our way to the Reading Tournament.
With games against the home side, the visitors from the USA, and Spencer, we made it through to the Final against Talbot.
Another great day, and the opportunity to play teams we don't usually meet.

Trip to Blues

Stockport Lacrosse Club Juniors embarked on what has now become an annual trip down to Walcountian Blues for a weekend of lacrosse and camping.
Arriving after a long trip, we fielded a mixed age team of U12-16s against a mixed size Blues team.
Considering everything, we did really well against a team who had a couple of handy 'long-poles' who seemed to intercept a lot of our shots.

Final Score - Blues 12 : Stockport 6
Quarter scores: 1-4 / 0-2 / 3-1 / 2-5

Thanks to Blues for their excellent hospitality and especially to Amit for another great curry!
