The long-awaited Final day finally dawned hot and sunny at Rochdale Lacrosse Club.
The match got off to a slow start for our boys, with Timperley taking the lead in the first half of the 1st quarter. It was Thomas S who got us into the game with a goal before the end of Q1.
There were 2 goals for us in Q2 from Danny, but unfortunately his 2nd goal was on its way to the net as the whistle for half-time blew, so it didn't make it onto the score sheet.
Whilst Timperley clocked up more goals, Matthew made a few great saves to keep their goal score down - and within our reach of catching up... With the half time score at 2-11, we had a lot to do, but, kept our heads up and continued to look for opportunities.
With another goal for Danny in Q3, and 2 for Thomas Mc in Q4, the final scoreline -whilst not enough to win - was an excellent effort for a team who only won one match last season!
We scored in every quarter, and even reduced the goal difference in the quarters in the 2nd half of the game, demonstrating a determination that didn't diminish in spite of being behind.
With great match play, a brilliant attitude, and only one penalty during the game, I don't think that will be the last Final for our U12s.
It was a great end to a succesful season and all the boys enjoyed the day and the experience of playing in front of a Finals-day crowd.
Well Played Boys.
