Home game vs Timperley A...

After playing their B team last week, it was now time to catch up on our postponed game from last year, and play the A team.
On a frosty, hard pitch, we got off to a slower start than in previous weeks, and this gave Timperley the opening they would have been hoping for.
In a change from recent form, we finished Q1 goal-less...
Q2 started off strong, with a couple of shots on goal, then Michael scoring what was to be our only goal of the match.
The blues didn't play as well this week, and with opponents like Timperley A, they needed to be at their best for a chance of winning...
As Timperley A are also through to the semi-finals of the Cup (!), we have lots of learning points and room for improvement before our next meeting.

Final Score: Stockport 1 : Timperley A 23
Quarter scores: 0-4 / 1-5 / 0-7 / 0-7

Next fixture: at home vs Sheffield

2nd round of the Onondaga Cup away at Timperley

Through to the 2nd round of the Cup, the U12s got off to another good start with a goal in the opening minutes getting the game off on the right footing.
With the score soon at 0-4, we were looking really strong, with lots of possession, good passing and great communication between the boys.
They all played well, and got the result they deserved - with a place in the semi-finals!

Final score: Timperley B 6 : Stockport 17

Quarter scores: 1-6 / 2-4 / 2-3 / 1-4

Next fixture: at home vs Timperley A

Long-awaited Cup game vs Rochdale

After several weeks of waiting for the weather to get better, we eventually made the trip up to a very wet and windy Rochdale for the 1st round of the Cup.
In the same vein as last week, the U12s played really well... looking good with their passing, and creating a lot of opportunities for shots on goal. For some unknown reason, a lot of their shots in Q1 failed to find their mark. Changing ends, changed their luck though - with 8 goals finding the back of the net in Q2! Clearly, shooting up the hill was easier, as Q3 saw a slowdown in goals scored too... With another 3 goals in Q4 - with one from defender Kai - Stockport finished with a good result for the 1st round.

Challenging conditions weren't just confined to the pitch though - and, as a result, I'm afraid that with the gusty wind and torrential rain, photos this week are limited to a few blurred images!

Final Score: Rochdale 4 : Stockport 15
Quarter Scores: 1-2 / 1-8 / 1-2 / 1-3

Next fixture: 2nd round of the Cup: away vs Timperley B
