The U12s turned out in the fog on Saturday to try to win a place in the semi-finals of the Plate competition. This was the first game we'd played for 7 weeks! We did start off a bit rusty against Ashton - who scored 2 goals in the first quarter. We soon got it together though with a goal from defender-turned-midfielder Toby to kickstart the Blues so that by halftime it was 3-3!
A couple of tactical time-out team talks were needed to keep the boys on track and determined, and their efforts paid off with a 6-5 win!
Well done lads. That's a great start for the new year - a place in the semi-finals - let's keep it up!
Final score: Stockport 6 : Ashton 5
Next fixture: away at Heaton Mersey

Happy New 2010!
After a prolonged break, due in part to the slightly inclement weather, all the Junior teams joined together for a group training session today. In the snow.
The pitch was under a few inches of snow, but that didn't deter our boys - especially when it came to the snowball fight at the end!
So, although I only usually put match photos on here - I thought a few snowy training pics made a nice change.
(I'm not sure who enjoyed the snowballs more... Coaches or Juniors...!)
Next match: at home against Wilmslow, weather permitting (!)
