Christmas with the Junior section

After a couple of weeks with training-only weekends (for the U12s), the last meet of the year saw the Junior section make their way to Parrs Wood Ten Pin for a competition minus lacrosse sticks!

The six bowling teams were made up of a mix of U12s, U14s & U16s with a 'responsible adult' (?) as team leader, and the competition for the worthy prize began.

Back at the club, Team Tonge were awarded the prize for the bowling competition, and then we all tucked into the buffet as the snow started to fall!

As you'll see, the photos below are in reverse chronological order - starting with the snowball fight - so keep on scrolling to see the bowling alley action etc. As I took quite a few pics (!), they're posted slightly differently to usual, so just click on each photo to enlarge to see it clearer.

Have a Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year!

And the snow came down!

And the winner is....

Cup Preliminary Round against... guess who?

Yep, Timperley B. Again!

Homeground this week - and what a soggy, boggy pitch it was! All the rain meant the pitch was a bit slow and groundballs were a bit of a struggle at times.
The boys were looking good though, and there was a determination to get a result this week, which paid off with a great game.
A few shots on goal gave us a level score in Q2 (3-3), and we went on to WIN the third quarter with one goal to nil! Well done boys.
The final quarter - a dangerous area for us for the last few weeks - saw the whole team determined not to give Timperley an easy win, and although we did concede a goal, it was only ONE goal this time.
So, we've not won the Cup, but, the team played well and remained focused and positive.

COACH'S TIP OF THE WEEK: don't hold onto the ball for too long. Look for the pass!

Final score: Stockport 4 : Timperley B 6
Next fixture: check your emails as next week was meant to be a Cup game so we may not have a game. But you never know...

(quite a few pics this week (18), so keep on scrolling down)

are his hands together on the stick for that push?

go on, what you waiting for?

Head down and, chaaaarrrrge!
